EVERYBODY WINS! Los Angeles could use your help! There are many different ways of helping promote literacy and self-esteem, some of which you may never have guessed. Listed below are a few ideas, but if you have talents or services you think would help us serve the children of Los Angeles, please contact us. We are happy to hear new suggestions.

VOLUNTEER

Become a Reading Buddy: You can become a Reading Buddy in two ways. One, you can inspire your company to become a Corporate Reading Partner (see Volunteer link) and begin reading at a school near your work place. Or you can volunteer personally at any one of our eight current schools. Right now we have programs at the following locations:
West Hollywood Elementary School (West Hollywood)
10th Street Elementary School (Downtown- Pico Union)
Walt Disney Elementary School (Burbank)
Brockton Avenue Elementary School (West LA)
Leo Politi Elementary School (Downtown)
Juan Cabrillo Elementary (Hawthorne)
Toland Way Elementary (Eagle Rock)
Kennedy Elementary School (Compton)

Please understand if you begin volunteering individually, our volunteer schedule revolves around the academic school year. You will also be asked to fill out volunteer applications and take a T.B. test. Please be patient with this process, as we are coordinating many people’s schedules and paperwork at the same time.

Help Lawyers for Literacy: EVERYBODY WINS! Los Angeles hosts an annual fundraiser called Lawyers for Literacy Spelling Bee and Silent Auction. We need volunteers to help organize, research, and run the event. The event invites law firms to sponsor spelling bee teams of three to compete in a spelling competition. Guests enjoy a silent auction and food along with the competition. If you are interested in helping to plan the event, or would like to volunteer at the event, there are many opportunities to get involved.

Organize your own fundraiser: If your company or school would like to host a small, local fundraiser for EVERYBODY WINS! Los Angeles, we would be excited to help you. Please contact us with any ideas prior to hosting the event.

For more information on volunteering, please contact Jessica Cunningham at jessicac@everybodywinsla.org or at 310.348.9991.
